TERMS
Terms
These terms cover buying and using keybars Pro, and using keybars.app. keybars, the free command-line tool, has its own MIT licence.
Who sells it
keybars Pro is made by Jonathan Warykowski in Australia. Polar sells it as the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax or GST, and sends the receipt and the licence key. Polar’s own terms apply to the payment.
What you buy
- A licence for keybars Pro, paid once. There’s no subscription.
- A year of updates from the day you buy: every new release, and every new mode that arrives in that year.
- After the year, everything you have keeps working, in every later release too, so updating never takes anything away. Modes that arrive after your year need another year of updates, at a discount for returning customers.
- Use on up to three computers at a time. Deactivate one in the app to move the licence to another.
The licence is for you. Please don’t share your licence key or sell it on.
Using it
The app needs a per-key RGB keyboard it supports (see Keyboards) on Linux, macOS 14.2 or later, or Windows 10 or 11. Try the free version before you buy: it runs with the essential settings, and every Pro setting shows in the on-screen preview.
keybars Pro is provided as it is. I work to keep it reliable, but can’t promise it’ll work with every keyboard, system or setup, or be free of bugs. To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect losses from using it. None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or your own country’s consumer law.
The marketplace
When you publish to the marketplace, you confirm you have the right to share what you publish, and you let anyone use, install and adapt it through keybars. Items that are unlawful, hateful, misleading or that copy someone else’s work without permission are removed, and accounts that keep publishing them are hidden. Report an item from its page.
Setups
You can add up to six photos of your setup to your marketplace profile. Only add photos you took, and only with the agreement of anyone in them. By adding one, you let keybars show it on your profile and in links to it, until you remove it. Photos that are unlawful, sexual, violent, hateful, invade someone’s privacy or aren’t of a setup are removed. Anything that puts a child at risk is removed at once and reported to the authorities. A new account’s first photo shows once a moderator has looked at it. Report a photo from your profile’s viewer, or ask for one to come down at support@jwarykowski.dev.
Refunds

Changes
If these terms change, the new version goes here with its date. A change never takes away what you’ve already bought.
